The barlgura was a critter that already existed in Neverwinter, but in module 18 ("Infernal Descent") there was an initiative to update the visuals since it featured prominently in the content. To that end, I created a brand new sculpt, low poly model, and texturing for the barlgura. This needed to keep with similar proportions to the original, as the rig and animation set were being re-used.
The goal was both to update all of the existing barlgura critters in game, as well as create a boss-version that could be used in heroic encounters and as a legendary mount. After I finished updating the standard barlgura, I created a unique sculpt for the boss version and updated textures and modified models to match. I also built the accessories for the boss version--his gauntlet and the morning star arm.
